For ultimate convenience, fly into Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) and you'll land at North America's only slopeside airport and only minutes away from The Little Nell. Over 150 nonstop and connecting flights fly weekly into Aspen from around the world, all year round. Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is serviced by commercial airlines -- United, American, Delta. By car: Guests driving to Aspen from Denver, Colorado Springs, or any destination South of Aspen should be aware that Independence Pass is closed in the winter months, and plan alternative travel routes via I-70 through Glenwood Springs, CO. The Pass generally reopens in late May and stays open until late October, weather permitting. Driving to Aspen from Denver is a scenic trip, about 4 hours in the winter months, via I-70 West to Glenwood Springs, and then CO Highway 82 East to Aspen. In the summer months, few drives beat the cherished trip over Independence Pass, a high mountain pass midway between Aspen and Twin Lakes reaching elevation of 12,095 feet at the top of the Continental Divide.
