• Distrito Soma: A must-visit space where restaurants, galleries and design shops come together. Espacio Curander: Opened since 2021, this gallery is run by two mural artists located in downtown San Miguel.
• Casa 10: An art gallery space in Haciende la Aurora offering original art from both established and emerging artists from Mexico City and the Netherlands. Its temporary exhibitions last three months, in collaboration with musicians, chefs, mixologists and dancers, among others, to create multi-sensory experiences.

Where to eat

• Antonio Bistro SMA: This spot has the best terrace in town — order the Galician shrimp with chorizo.
• Mercado Ignacio Ramirez: The famed food market named after Mexican poet Ignacio Ramirez.
• Panina: A sun-filled bakery open from Wednesday to Sunday. The small batch-baked treats are the best in town, but you’ll have to arrive early if you want to snag one. By midday, Panina’s coveted everything bagels, sourdough loaves, and specialty pastries are often sold out.
• Raices: A traditional Mexican breakfast and lunch spot, open every day except Tuesday.

When to go

• The best time to visit San Miguel is from November until April. Though San Miguel's climate doesn't vary too much throughout the year, this period sees the least rainfall.
